PROMINENT MCA ENTRANCE EXAMS
IIT JAM (MCA)
From the Academic Session 2004 - 2005, Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) have started conducting a Joint Admission test for M.Sc. (JAM) for admission to M.Sc. and other post-B.Sc. programs at the IITs.
Eligibility:
- B.Sc. pass or appearing (Session 2010-11)
- For General candidates, at least 55% aggregate marks and for Sc/ST candidates, at least 50% aggregate marks in B.Sc. (all subjects including languages all years combined).
- For subject wise minimum qualification required, please refer IIT JAM information brochure.

JNU (MCA)
Eligibility:
Bachelor's degree in any discipline with adequate competence in Mathematics under 10+2+3 pattern of education with at least 55% marks.
Paper Pattern:
The question paper for the entrance examination will consist of multiple choice questions.
Syllabus: 10+2/Graduate level Maths, Graduate level Computer Science and General Aptitude.

NIMCET
NIMCET is a national level entrance test conducted by NITs for admission to their MCA programme. The admission to MCA programme offered by all the NITs that participate in NIMCET is based on the rank obtained in the NIMCET. The curriculum and syllabus of MCA programme offered by NITs are designed considering the need of different software houses in India and abroad. Hence the MCA programme has a high job potential in the IT Sector.
Eligibility:
Candidates having minimum 60% aggregate marks in each of the examinations of
i. 12th level and
ii. Bachelor’s Degree of a 3 year full time course from a recognized university with Mathematics/Statistics/Business Mathematics as one of the subjects in any one semester/year. SC/ST Candidates with minimum 55% aggregate marks (6.0/10 CGPA) are eligible.
Test Pattern (NIMCET 2010):
The question paper will contain 120 multiple choice questions covering the following topics:
1. Mathematics - 40 questions
2. Analytical Ability & Logical Reasoning - 55 questions
3. Computer Awareness - 10 questions
4. General English - 15 questions

RMCAAT
Rajasthan Masters of Computer Application Admission Test (RMCAAT) is conducted by the Rajasthan Technical University (RTU). Rajasthan MCA Admission Test is conducted in the month of June for Admission to 28 MCA colleges affiliated to Rajasthan Technical University, Kota.
Eligibility:
Bachelor’s degree of minimum 3 years from any of the reputed Institute with at least 50% aggregate (45% in case of SC/ST and OBC candidates)
Studied Mathematics at the 10+2 level
Domicile
RMCAAT is only open for candidates of the Rajasthan domicile.
- Either candidate or his parents must be resident of Rajasthan OR
- Candidate has studied as a regular student in recognized institutions of Rajasthan
- Candidate is a son/daughter of either a serving employee or of a retired employee of Government
- Candidate is a son/daughter of an employee of any of the Universities in Rajasthan
Examination Pattern:
Test will comprise of 200 multiple choice questions (total of 200 marks) with the following three sections -

MAH-MCA-CET
This is a Common Entrance Test (CET) for admission to full time Post Graduate course in MCA to enroll into more than 70 universities/institutes in Maharashtra. The goal is to prepare the graduates for the knowledge-based economy, champion the cause of life long learning and stimulate the creation of world class resources through information technology.
Eligibility:
- Passed with minimum of 45% marks in aggregate ( 40% in case of candidates of backward class categories belonging to Maharashtra State only) in any Bachelor’s degree of minimum three years duration in any discipline recognised by the Association of Indian Universities AND
- Studied Mathematics or Statistics as one of the subjects at 10+2 level or higher level examination.

Test Paper Pattern

DELHI UNIVERSITY (DU)
The University of Delhi is the premier university of the country and is known for its high standards in teaching and research and attracts eminent scholars to its faculty.
Admission to M.C.A:
Admission to Master of Computer Applications for the academic year 2011-2012 will be made through JAM (Joint Admission Test for M.Sc.) 2011 being conducted by IIT Roorkee.
Eligibility for M.C.A:
Any Bachelor's Degree under 10+2+3 scheme of examination followed at the University of Delhi or an equivalent degree from any other recognized University with 60% marks (55% in case of SC/ST candidates) in aggregate AND
At least one paper in Mathematics for annual system candidates/at least two papers of Mathematics for semester system candidates.

BANARAS HINDU UNIVERSITY (BHU)
Banaras Hindu University conducts Undergraduate and Postgraduate Entrance Tests usually during May-June for admission to various courses. Entrance Test Admission forms are issued by the office of the Controller of Examinations usually in February-March every year.
Eligibility:
Bachelor's Degree under 10+2+3 pattern in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks.
Additional requirement for:
- M.C.A - Mathematics as one of the subjects at either Intermediate (10+2) or equivalent examination, or, Bachelor’s level (as a main or a subsidiary subject)
- Computer Science - Candidate must have qualified in Computer Science/must have studied Computer Science in all the three years. Those who have qualified in other subjects such as Computer Applications, Information Technology, etc. are not eligible.
Admission Process:
Admission to MCA program is made through an All India Admission Test (PET) conducted by B.H.U sometime around the month of May every year. The advertisement for the same is normally made in December - January in leading national dailies.

JAMIA MILLIA UNIVERSITY (JMU)
Eligibility:
B.Sc. with not less than 50% marks in aggregate and at least 55% Marks in the subjects.
Admission Process and Dates:
The candidates are required to go through an Entrance Test which is followed by an Interview and, in some specific courses, a Group Discussion is also held. Entrance test will be held in June, 2009 (tentative).

PAM-CAT
Punjab Admission to MCA Common Aptitude Test (PAM-CAT) is conducted by Punjabi University, Patiala on behalf of the Punjab government. The university offers admission to MBA and MCA programs in the colleges affiliated to Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar, Punjab Technical University, Jalandhar and Punjabi University, Patiala.
Eligibility criteria:
Bachelor’s degree of at least 3 years with mathematics as a compulsory subject in the class 12th standard.
Moreover, the criteria are different for different universities.
